Why we built this.

We started The Rizz straight out of college. Four friends, no investors, no industry contacts, no blueprint. Just a genuine obsession with fragrance — and the conviction that what existed in the Indian market wasn't good enough.

What followed was six months that most people wouldn't attempt. Before we made a single product decision, we went deep. We explored over 500 fragrances — niche houses, designer labels, mass market, everything in between. We had conversations with over 100 oil and packaging vendors. We reverse-engineered formulas. We studied how scent performs on skin over time, how concentration affects longevity, how the same note behaves differently in different bases. This wasn't a passion project with a shortcut. It was R&D done the hard way, by people who actually cared about the answer.

We didn't pick a few products from a manufacturer's catalogue and run ads. We earned every decision.

The first 1,000 bottles were made by hand, in our office. We sold them before our website ever launched — face to face, at events, in real conversations. And that's when something unexpected happened. We started meeting people. Thousands of them. Over 10,000 conversations across college fests, malls, markets — real feedback, unfiltered, from real customers who had no reason to be polite. That feedback shaped everything. Every product adjustment, every scent we killed, every one we refined.

It also opened doors. Through relentless exploration — cold conversations, industry events, showing up where most people don't — we ended up connected to the top 1% of the fragrance supply chain in India. The people who actually know how this industry works. Not because we had capital or credentials, but because we showed up with genuine knowledge and genuine intent.

What we're actually building

The products we offer are not arbitrary. Every formula is the result of that entire process — the research, the testing, the thousands of reactions we observed, and the supply chain relationships we built from scratch. When we say a scent performs, we've watched it perform. When we say an oil is premium, we've compared it against everything else in the market.

We use 30% oil concentrationextrait de parfum strength — with French-imported absolutes. This isn't a marketing line. It's the outcome of months of formulation trials, and the reason our customers come back without being reminded to.

Every scent we release starts with an emotional brief — not a trend report. Banned was built for the energy before a night out. Lost Nights for what happens after. Oud Supreme for the moments when you want to communicate something without saying a word. Thoughtful products, built by people who thought about them longer than most brands would consider reasonable.

We're four friends who bet on themselves straight out of college. Six months in — and we're just getting started.

We're 22 — collectively. Four people for whom this is not a side project, not a passion project, not something we do between other things. This is our full-time life. We have no exit strategy, no backup plan, no other door we're keeping open. We're here to build something that lasts — a fragrance house that India can be genuinely proud of, at a price point that doesn't ask you to compromise.
